IRD Bending Plate® Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) Scale

The IRD Bending Plate® WIM weigh pads utilize strain gauge weighing elements to detect and weigh wheel/axle loads in each of two (2), low profile scales installed in a lane. The system consists of two (2) steel frames (per lane) which are installed into existing or new asphalt or concrete pavement, and the weigh pads which are bolted to the installation frame.

The IRD Bending Plate® WIM scales are used for medium to high speed WIM and/or vehicle classification applications. The Bending Plate® WIM technology is a mid-cost weight monitoring package ideally suited for data collection or medium-speed enforcement pre-screening.
